Governors

At Great Dunmow Primary School, we strive for excellence in learning and all that we do. We live by our core values of honesty, effort and respect.

The vision of the Governing Body is that Great Dunmow Primary School should provide the opportunity for each and every child to thrive and achieve their potential. It does this by offering a combination of excellent teaching, accurate assessment and a creative, enquiry-based curriculum, as well as participation in music, drama and sports activities to build children’s confidence. Ensuring that each and every member of staff, whether a school leader, a teacher or a support member of staff, is supported, developed and encouraged to fulfil their own potential is fundamental to this vision.

The school’s strategic priorities are that:

  • We set high expectations for all. We expect our teaching and support staff to deliver high quality learning experiences and support them to do so.
  • We aim to provide an enriched stimulating learning environment that enables children to excel in all areas. We encourage our children to embrace any challenges they may face so that they develop the resilience and the social skills that will enable them to make good progress and have a lifelong love of learning.
  • We aim to be inclusive and address the needs of each and every child, especially disadvantaged children and those with special educational needs.
